Green Jiu Jitsu has been a fantastic place to learn Jiu-Jitsu. The instructors take their time to ensure every student understands the techniques. All the students are friendly, look out for each other and train safe. For a 40+ year old guy like me who is just learning Jiu Jitsu, I glad I train at Green Jiu Jitsu where my trainer partners have become my friends.
Green Jiu Jitsu excels above its competition in the area. The instructors established not only an educational and informative environment, but also one that would make anyone feel comfortable. The vast knowledge held between Zach Green and Kevin Meyers is well beyond their years, and one can truly feel their passion emit from their teachings. Whether a beginner or long time practitioner, Green Jiu Jitsu can serve as a home for your training.
I feel lucky to have found Green Jiu Jitsu. Instructors are likable, competent, and motivating, with opportunities for training 6 days a week. I had a little bit of Jiu Jitsu experience before I moved to the area and was surprised at how personalized instruction was at this school; the emphasis on developing Jiu Jitsu that works for you ("if you have bad knees try this instead", "if this movement is really too awkward/difficult for you another option is [example]", etc.) was refreshing and really helpful. I felt very "accepted" immediately upon joining and found all my training partners to be very friendly with zero ego (something else I was pleasantly surprised by, having found at least one person with an ego at every other martial arts school I've ever been to). It's also nice to experience both Zach and Kevin's styles. Neither of them has tried to make me perfectly copy their exact brand of Jiu-Jitsu, and I like that I can learn from both.
Green Jiu Jitsu provides a quality learning atmosphere where both teachers may teach differently still incorporate everything in their lessons to unify into one topic. Not to mention the friendliness of the teachers as well as the students. Everyone is there to help better each other in the pursuit of grappling perfection. I highly recommend trying Jiu Jitsu out for yourself!
What can I say that hasn't been said? Two unique styles of teaching, excellent instruction, ego-free place train, good people and good times. I've competed under instructor Zach's coaching 4 times and medaled at each. excellent beginner instruction as well as advanced, if you're new or experienced there is always something new to be learned. I would recommend this school to anyone looking to get into martial arts.
